Please join us in welcoming special guest speaker: NATALIE MATTE from SAFEWAY. Safeway has been serving the north Campbell / West San Jose trade area primarily from its existing store at Westgate. With the closure of Mervyn’s on Hamilton Ave., Safeway began discussions with the property owner to revitalize the eight acre site with a state of the art Lifestyle Safeway store, junior retail, and new Safeway gas station. Safeway is now proud to be bringing its proposed drawings to the community for review and dialogue. The architectural design seeks to be unique to Campbell and pay tribute to other successful architectural efforts in the city. Safeway recently shared its plans with the Campbell Planning Commission in a Study Session, and looks forward to a second Study Session on March 9. Depending on the city entitlement process, Safeway would like to start construction this Summer 2010 and aim for a grand opening in late 2010 or early 2011. |
